Sometimes as artists and creators we need a reminder on why we do what we do. Sometimes it’s hard to keep everything in perspective, and sometimes anyone with any job will find the need to answer this question over and over again; “why?”
Today, this reminder comes to me from street artist/photographer JR. During a 2011 Ted Talk titled Use Art To Turn The World Inside Out, JR discusses his InsideOut project which involves pasting large format portraits all over the world for “people to share their untold stories and transform messages of personal identity into works of public art.”
Art can change how we see the world. – JR
The photographer shares his experiences sharing photos in his home in France, the favelas in Brazil, India, The Middle East, and more discussing how his art is used to connect with people.
I will use this information as my fuel to walk out the door now and do something to turn the world inside out!
I wish for you to stand up for what you care about by participating in a global art project, and together we’ll turn the world inside out. – JR
